Wedding mania

So we picked the location of the wedding. The blue heron center at quiet waters park. Let the planning begin! Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can do the ceremony outside by the fountain.

Hobby lobby & michael's have tons of cute stuff for wedding decorations & favors. I love the chalk board signs.

I've already started having nightmares. Last night I dreamt we forgot to cut the cake, then I fell back asleep and had a dream that the rings got lost. I still have over a year until the wedding. I foresee being a bridezilla big time. Good thing my bridesmaids have already determined that they'll shoot me with blow darts.

For now I need to start working out big time. I refuse to wear a plus size dress... Maybe I'll sign up for bridal boot camp.

Christmas

As I'm standing in line at game stop buying the nfl training game for wii, my workouts resume on the first, I was browsing apps and saw there was a blogger app. Cool. So since I never blog I figured I would wish my few followers a merry Christmas and happy new years and share some of my holiday with you.

We have me and my stepdad at Redskins game Christmas eve, my mom Christmas morning, the beagles and my stepdad, Aaron and his new bike, mo opening presents, our Christmas dinner feast, the grinch punch I made which was really yummy, and my desserts.

So I am not very good with this blog thing, I have like 3 followers and I post like every other week if that. But I do know how to "pin" and I am obsessed.  I have also found new blogs to follow from pinterest & I am completley envious of all these blogs that are so pretty with the layout.  Maybe oneday. We picked a date! It seems so far away from now, but I know as soon as next summer hits the next year will just fly by!  But since we have a date now, hopefully I will get better at this blog thing & update more as wedding plans get done. ( :

09.11.2001

I know I am a day late with this, but better late then never.  I want to take a moment to look back & reflect on the horrible day America encountered that beautiful Tuesday morning in September.  I remember that day perfectly, but I couldnt tell you what I did last Tuesday... All in all, I don't remember what it was like before 9/11 considering I was so young, but now I know the security, the war, the lives lost.

I never had the priveledge of seeing this for myself, but I did visit Ground Zero a few years following these events and I hope to visit NYC soon to see the new Ground Zero memorials that have been opened this past weekend.

The Horrific Day...

I know this is a horrible picture but I believe it should be shown.  These images are forevered scared in my head and I will never forget.  But it is an importand day in history & should be taught.

And finally Ground Zero on 09/11/2011 ten years later....

My favorite quote that has come out of all of this is spoken by former President Bush in a National Geograpic 09.11 interview special.  He said

"Eventually September 11th will be a date on the calendar like Pearl Harbor Day. But for those of us who lived through it, it will be a day we will never forget."

& I believe this is true, in another fifty years we won't memorialize 09/11 as we did yesterday but those who lived it will never ever forget.

first wedding item

My mom got us our very first item that we will use in our wedding.  Our cake topper! It is super small and simple but I love it & can decorate with it using flowers or shells, depending which way the cake is decorated.  It was purchased from http://www.lisaleonardonline.com/ & everything on this website is absolutely adorable.
